Her parents divorced in 2017 after fighting between them and separation since 2006. She is 7/8 siblings. Her younger brother committed suicide due to his parents legal battle pressuring him at age 13 (in 2008). And her older brother passed away in a car accident in 2022. She presented with symptoms of emotional numbness, anhedonia, "sad" mood for the past few months. She had symptoms of depression, death wishes, hopelessness, anhedonia, decreased concentration and energy in Jan 2025 and was prescribed Sertraline 50mg. She and her friends blame the sertraline for her emotional numbness and apathy. She appears her stated age, veiled, euthymic mood, reactive and appropriate affect. Intellectual and satirical defense mechanisms throughout. No SI, No HI, No death wishes, no psychotic symptoms. Good insight. She has a past psychiatric history of seeing a therapist 2 years ago for a couple of sessions but didn't continue because she didn't feel comfortable. She has no FH other than her brother who commited suicide at age 13 (undiagnosed) She has no pertinent past medical history. She doesn't smoke or drink or take elicit drugs She was in a 4 year relationship with her collegue from Medical school and suddenly withoug telling her, he announced to the public that he got engaged to a friend of hers without her knowledge. That was in 2022. She is currently in a relationship, online, with a Libyan doctor (neurosurgeon) in UK. She had multiple failed attempts in completing her exams to travel. She is currently on a path for that. Assessment: MDD, partial remission.
